To:The Executive Council & All members of the
LSPA:
It has
been my pleasure to represent each of you exceptionally dedicated
professional at the legislature this year. I genuinely admire and
respect the
work you do and the more I learn of you, the more it inspires me to
thrust
forward amongst any and all odds. I can only hope you consider me worthy
of your
service. Know that in future service to you I will continue to create
and
seek out opportunities to better the conditions in your
profession.
We were
completely successful as we worked together to bring passage to your
salary
supplement issues. We assisted with other leaders of education
associations to support and oppose other education issues which effect
your day
to day working conditions. Do not think there was any failure in this
years
legislative efforts. We interacted and formed mutual relationships with
the
leaders of the other groups of the NBC professionals. When called upon
the
LSPA members, including a good many from the other groups
responded well with their emails and calls to the legislators. Our
voices were
heard loud and clear. If nothing else had come of these efforts, we
educated a
lot of legislators where before some had little knowledge of the quality
of
services you provide to their local school system and student
population. We
received a considerably larger amount
of support votes in both houses of the legislator than last year
during the midst of yet another state budget crisis. This speaks volumes
of
our legislative efforts at the capital and of yours locally.
I am
looking forward to interacting and sharing strategy with more of you in
the
future. Your ideas are from where I get mine. I am your voice at the
legislature. I reiterate your opinions. You are my constant source of
information. I have 28 years of professional legislative abilities but
you
provide substance to our issues.
Your
executive council has proven their excellent leadership abilities in
assisting
me this year. They deserve your respect for their tireless efforts. It
was the
most difficult year to receive state funds.
One of
my responsibilities is to create a positive image of your profession
with the
legislators, administrative officials, and house and senate staff
personnel. I have promoted you as the highest level of professionals in
the
local school system with individual exceptionally trained and developed
specialist skills. They recognize who you are now. These are my beliefs
and I
will continue to promote you as such and praise your services to them
every
opportunity I get.
With kindest
regards,
Iam,
