Ladies and Gentlemen,
As you are no doubt aware, the Louisiana State Budget had undergone and will undergo major reductions in spending.. One of the cuts proposed is that the NCSP Supplement that almost 200 school psychologists receive currently be funded by the local school board rather than the State of Louisiana. Given the financial situations most local school systems face, this has major implications for anyone receiving this supplement. Please find a series of letters to the editor and editorials that have been sent in support of the supplement process, regardless of whether school psychologists are specifically mentioned or not. All of us are affected. A bill has been proposed that would alleviate this concern. What is needed is for you to read these articles and use them as models for letters to your legislators. For your convenience the portal of the Louisiana Legislature may be found at the bottom of this page and may be used to both identify your legislator and also to track progress of relevant legislation. Please contact your legislator and tell him/her the importance of this current proposal.
Thank you.
