Hello. I am Debra Duhe, Ph.D., NCSP and I am the State Supervisor of School Psychological Services in the State of Louisiana. I have been the supervisor for almost three years and am part of the Division of Special Populations (DSP) in the Louisiana Department of Education (LDOE). Prior to that time I was a school psychologist in both St. Bernard Parish and with Special School District. What I want to do is to bring you the latest information from the DSP as well as provide guidance in your professional endeavors.
First I would like to share the LDOE web page about school psychologists that was created.
The next information I have is a compilation of tools that are needed to to fulfill our professional responsibilities.
The next section is commonly referred to as Coursewhere. Here you should look periodically for various staff developments that DSP or LDOE provides for education professionals.
Finally, the DSP periodically sends out a newsletter that provides an update regarding various DSP activities, regulations, and district support. The following are the contents of the most recent DSP newsletter:
Letter from the U.S. Department of Education Information Regarding Hearing Impairments
Lousiana Course Offerings Assistive Technology Training
LASARD (Autism) Training Autism Spectrum Disorders Partnership
If you have any questions or wish additional information, please feel free to contact me at (225) 342-3661 or via email.
