Register Here: Spring Lunch & Learn Webinar Series Spring Lunch & Learn Webinar Series: Part 1 of 3 Despite the broad acceptance of Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) by school districts nationwide, there remains a notable level of confusion over what intervention models it consists of. Often districts view intervention service delivery models, such as social-emotional RTI and School-Wide Positive Behavior Support, under MTSS as competing initiatives. This is in contrast to viewing each as models that complement one another in the areas of promoting social-emotional and behavioral well-being for students. This presentation's objective is to briefly review the historical context and perspectives of MTSS, alongside providing an overview of social-emotional RTI and PBIS. Presenter: Garry Shaffer, MS/CAS School Psychology & Mental Health Counseling Objectives In this session, participants will: 1) Identify the origins of MTSS: Participants will be able to pinpoint the historical roots and foundational origins of Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS). 2) Describe the intervention service delivery models that comprise MTSS: Participants will have the ability to describe the various intervention service delivery models that comprise MTSS. 3) Define Social-Emotional RTI and School Wide Positive Behavior Support: Participants will articulate a clear and concise definition of Social-Emotional Response to Intervention (RTI), understanding its role in supporting students' emotional well-being. 4) Compare and contrast the three tiers of social-emotional RTI to that of School-wide positive behavior support.
